Forever a Guide (Poem)

Forever a Guide

Whatever I want, Father, that is not Your Son or of His kingdom, I give in sacrifice to and for You.

I can’t be anything right or true or just.

But with Christ, all I am is right and true and just.

Continue to reprimand gently, to correct softly, to discern directly, to comprehend deeply, Father.

All of my heart, all of my thoughts, and all of my ways are Yours to mold.

For within You lies all good.

And in all ways that I am led on the path of the cross,

so too do You grant me the power You gave Your son to come back to life.

So then, I fear nothing, for I lack nothing.

Even death has no hold on me,

for I am in Your hands,

and You will never let me go.
